Be Aware

December 10
Readings: Isaiah 12:2-6, Amos 6:1-8 and 2 Corinthians 8:1-15.

The theme that I figured which binds all these texts together is: we need to be aware of who we are, what we have and where we are going. If I were to create an order with the texts, I would put 2 Cor 8:1-15 first, this establishes that we need to desire God’s grace and to be completed in Him. Then Isaiah 12:2-6, the results of receiving His grace is salvation, strength and joy. Then Amos is the contrast, that shows us, if we are do not have wilfull hearts for His grace and are taking all these gift and blessings in vain, then He will have wrath upon us.

There was little imagery in these readings. In Isaiah 12 there was the imagery in in verse 3 “Therefore with joy you will draw water
From the wells of salvation.” however this doesn’t fit too well with the theme of ‘being aware’. So I just decided to use verse 9 out of 2 Cor 8 for this piece.
The background is just an experimental painting I did in Photoshop.
