On the hillside you will be delivered
At the foot of the cross, justified
And your spirit restored
By the river that pours
From our blessed Saviour’s side
“Who has believed what he has heard from us?[d]
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For he grew up before him like a young plant,
and like a root out of dry ground;
he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
and no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected[e] by men;
a man of sorrows,[f] and acquainted with[g] grief;[h]
and as one from whom men hide their faces[i]
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” Isaiah 53:1-3
“The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice;
together they sing for joy;
for eye to eye they see
the return of the Lord to Zion.
9 Break forth together into singing,
you waste places of Jerusalem,
for the Lord has comforted his people;
he has redeemed Jerusalem.” Isaiah 52:8-9
